This softcover book chronicles Sandy's destructive force across the Jersey Shore. This book, the first of two produced on Superstorm Sandy and its aftermath, benchmarks the storm-wrought destruction.
All profits from the sale of the book are donated to the American Red Cross Jersey Coast Chapter and the Jersey Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Sandy: Devastation and Rebirth at the Jersey Shore
Get the book that tells the Superstorm Sandy story like only the writers and photographers of the Asbury Park Press can. This beautiful heirloom-quality, hard-cover, coffee-table book is a follow-up to the wildly popular soft-bound book we published in December. This book not only captures Sandy's fury and the unfathomable destruction left in her wake, but also the indomitable spirit of the residents of the Jersey Shore as they pick up the pieces and rebuild. This is the definitive book on Sandy and it includes stories, front pages and even more photos from our award winning photojournalists.
Tappan Zee Bridge 1000pc Puzzle
On a cold day, who doesn't like the challenge of a jigsaw puzzle by the fire with a cup of hot cocoa and a favorite podcast playing in the background? The Journal News/lohud team is pleased to announce the release of a 1,000-piece jigsaw that will allow puzzlers to build the bridge between Rockland and Westchester counties. We're calling this puzzle, simply, "The Bridge" (any other name would be divisive, and this is about building a bridge). The image is from our collection of thousands of photographs of the bridge project over the past five years. John Meore, a Rockland resident and staff photographer, shot the photo, which shows both open spans of the new bridge and what still remains of the old Tappan Zee.
